If you want to buy a video karaoke player, you will need to find one that reads CD+G. It may also read CDs, DVDs and other forms of media, too. CD+G is a karaoke CD that has the music on it, and also graphics with the words to the songs.
When you hook your karaoke machine up to your TV or computer monitor via an AV out cable, it’s the CD+G that will show the song lyrics on the screen. Then all you need is a video camera, either installed on your karaoke machine (this is ideal), or hooked up to it.
A video karaoke machine is frankly more fun than a regular, garden variety, karaoke machine. This is because you get to do the whole “video” thing, along with singing your favorite songs.
